About Me

Artist, Crafter, Creative!

My Name is Sima Rahman-Huang founder of Artists' Apothecary. To provide a little insight in to my work and services and how it came about, here is a little bit about me.

Born in the 80s I grew up as an intrinsically imaginative child. In my teens I was always working on creative projects usually involving textiles, mixed media art or makeup. In my early 20s, I was working full time in marketing and event management which then eventually became my freelance work in managing catwalk shows, photoshoots and charity events. Around the same time, I was lucky enough to be involved in a project recreating a historical dress with muslin which told the story of the textiles trade. This work was published in to a book and an exhibition was held at The National Maritime Museum. I have been on several panels of discussion within the creative world and collaborated with several organisations to manage projects and events.

In my late 20s my professional career slowed down as I took time out to raise two children and since then I have had a gradual come back in to my creative life managing craft clubs for children which started off in lockdown to keep kids creative and socially interactive via online sessions. This coincided with my day to day running of an online children's store which has now evolved in to Artists' Apothecary.

My life has been a very colourful one, full of varied experiences within the art world I have met some amazing people along the way and continue to do so. Artists' Apothecary is an amalgamation of my passions and experiences which not only depicts my creative expression but offers a space to come together to foster creative innovation. Artists' Apothecary was born from the belief that wellness and mental health can go hand in hand with creative therapies and can be practiced by any individual.

I hope to be able to integrate my unique skill set in to the world of wellness and mental health. I hope to bring awareness and conscious change of how we can live a happier, healthier lifestyle of alternative therapies.
